Kotryna joined Contrarian Ventures in April 2026 as an Investment Analyst, supporting the team in sourcing, analysing, and evaluating early-stage climate and energy tech investments. With a background in economics and energy markets, she brings a data-driven perspective to understanding new technologies and the markets they are shaping. Her interest in the energy transition spans from the critical minerals and supply chains that underpin the energy system to the technologies and businesses helping reshape it.

Originally from Lithuania, Kotryna has spent much of her life moving between different countries. She holds a BA in Economics and Environmental Studies from New York University Abu Dhabi. Her work and studies have taken her across Abu Dhabi, New York, Sydney, Washington, D.C., and Accra, Ghana, giving her a global perspective on energy, technology, and the people behind them.

Outside the office, Kotryna spends as much time as she can in nature. She enjoys hiking, cycling, and photography, and is always keen to explore somewhere new, especially if it involves a good trail and a camera.
